Happy Lohri Lohri, a vibrant and ancient festival celebrated in Punjab, holds both scientific and cultural importance. Scientifically, it marks the end of the coldest days of winter and the onset of warmer days, coinciding with the change in the sun’s position. This period, known as the winter solstice, signals the arrival of longer days and the approach of spring, which is vital for agriculture. It is also a celebration of the harvest season, especially the harvest of rabi crops like sugarcane, mustard, and wheat.
